Today is the day that K has been waiting for. The Air Soft war games! Tony had invited K to participate in the game when we first arrived, so today's the day.
We woke up at 830am today, and K made milo for me. Somehow, the milo i made myself never tasted any good, so i asked him to make one for me.. And it was good! K refuses to tell me what he put inside that i didn't.. Bummer..
At about 930am, we headed to the war game center with Danny, Kurt and Abi (Donna's 2 sons and son's girfriend). We drove there cause it was quite a distance and difficult to walk there through all the hills and slopes. Kurt and Danny were both all dressed in full green soldier uniform with their rifle guns. It was quite exciting to see.
Not long after we reached the center, more and more people came. There were more than 10 cars parked outside, and about 25 people. 80% of them were dressed in serious soldier uniform. Some even had helmets and smeared camouflage on their faces and arms!! These guys are really serious about their war games!
There was the usual preparation where the guys prepared their guns, which looked so real. I just walked around snapping pictures of these funny looking men! Check out my Facebook for more photos ! = )
Then Tony divided the men into 2 teams, did the briefing, and off they went. Donna, me and Abi stayed behind in the center and prepared lunch - Beef burgers. I helped Donna cut the lettuce while she cut the tomatoes, while Abi grilled some sausages. Then I helped to wrap the burger buns into paper napkins and put them in boxes. We were all given paper lunch coupons to collect our lunch. It was $5 for a beef burger (with cheese, lettuce and sliced tomatoes) and a can of soft drink. And of course, K and I had ours for free. = ) Around 11am, we were finished, so Donna drove me and Abi to Waiku town center to return her DVD while Abi got Kurt a subway. After that, we bought ourselves real fruit ice-cream. This time, i tried mango flavor but it came out all vanila ice cream with no mango flavor at all.. sickening.. I regretted not sticking to banana flavor instead.. = (
The guys started to all stream back around 1230pm, and the center was crowded with people and noise again. I asked K how the game went, as i had watched it from on top of the hill at the center, and it looked quite boring. He concurred. There weren't many opportunities to shoot, unlike in paintball. Cause the field was just too big and sparse, and most of the time, he was just walking around and looking for people to shoot. Throughout the 2 hours, he only got shot twice, and shot 6 people. haha.. We met a Malaysian Chinese and chatted with him over lunch. Apparently, he had driven 100km to come here to play, cause according to him, the war games that Tony ran was pretty good. And apparently, this Malaysian guy was part of an Air Soft club. Interesting..
The game continued after lunch. It's 330pm now, and the guys are still playing. I helped Donna clear up the place after lunch, and then headed back to the house to chill and blog.. = )
Once K gets back, we need to head out again to buy some more butter chicken sauce, then make our instant noodles and butter chicken dinner for the family. Hopefully they will like it!! = )
Tomorrow is the day we start work on the farm. Tony had said to K that he needed some general help on the farm, so we are going to do some farm work tomorrow!
