A week of wining and dining..

The past 3 days have been really packed, so i haven't really been blogging since.. As the title of my post suggests, this week has been a week of wining and dining.. On Tuesday, our department had a Audit celebratory dinner, to celebrate the passing of the Controls Audit with flying colors.. Dinner was held at Rochestor Park De Paolo (or something like that). The boss was giving her Thank You speech halfway when this stupid cat came behind her and started meowing non stop.. it was quite hilarious..

Food there was not too bad, we had finger food (cheese and beef sandwishes and chicken skewers). For main course, i had pumpkin soup, linguine with prawn and crab meat, pan fried sea bass and tiramisu for dessert. And red wine of course!! Overall quite a nice place except that it was quite warm and there was no aircon.. Shared a long long conversation with my HK colleague on how to prepare for a marathon.. by the time i went home i was dead beat so didn't blog that night..

On Wednesday, we had our team building event at West Coast Park. Played Laser Quest at the park for 2 whole hours.. My team was called "Smurf with Guns" and the other team was called "Screw Them". Loved their war cry.. "Screw, screw screw screw... SCREW THEM!!" LOL!! But.. the overall winner was US!! We played 3 games. The first was a familiarization round for us to get used to our laser guns. The guns were pretty cool, about US$2k a piece. There were 3 types of guns: The small 2 kg one, 2.5 kg one and 3 kg one. The heavier ones had a longer shooting range.. The second game as called Texas Shootout, where 2 people stand back to back, walk 10 steps, and when the whistle blew, the 2 are supposed to turn around and shoot the other with one shot. There is only one "bullet" in each round, so we gotta reload after every shot. My Texas Shootout partner was Andy, so it was Ah Pheng vs. Ah Peng.. the former won, of course! = )

What's cool about the guns is that there is a lot of simulation and sounds, and we can also see at the end of the game who shot us the most.. The third game was a defend and attack game, the most exhausting one of all. The attack team have to stand inside the base (which is a pavilion) for as long as possible, whilst the defend team have to prevent the attack team from doing that. The team that can stand in the base for the longest wins.. I had plenty of fun hiding in the hedge, creeping through the bushes and basically running around the park like mad..haha !

After the game, we went to the Yatch Club nearby to take a shower, the black dress that i brought along was totally un-zippable; I had to ask 2 of my female colleagues to try and zip the dress for me but to no avail (and trust me they used all their strength to pull!). Eventually, i had to wear back the same sweaty attire i wore for the laser quest game, GROSS!! that was not all.. halfway through dinner, i went to the washroom, and the draw string on my draw string pants snapped! had to tie my pants into an awkward knot. Was damn worried the entire night that my pants would fall off ! Dinner was at Dampsey road "Red Dot Brew House". Had pizzas and loads of finger food. The group was much smaller so there was more interaction.. By 9pm, most of the managers had left, so only the "small fries" were left.. that was when the fun began.. there was so much merry making and laughter i wished the night didn't end..

Yesterday, we had a farewell dinner at Sushi Tei for one of our colleagues who was moving to one of our competitor companies.. And again, merry making and laughter.. the guy who was leaving, his last name was Teo, and they were discussing what he should name his son next time.. Someone said there is this character in King of Fighters called "Kyo", and that he should name his son Kyo. So then his son's full name would be "Kyo Teo!" haha!!! I think i laughed so hard i cried..

Frankly this week has really been a crazy week, i really worked hard and played equally hard as well..

I'm gonna play badminton and basketball with my colleagues today after work.. tomorrow is another jam packed day.. badminton at the airport in the morning, watching "The Mummy" in the afternoon, and then dinner with my colleague from Fairfax..

Hopefully i'll have time to blog this weekend..
