K went to the flower farm to work again this morning, cause i couldn't bring myself to get up from bed. = P
I finally woke up at 1030am, had milo, toast and tuna spread for breakfast, then started to prepare the pasta salad for lunch. I had to first boil water, then cook the pasta in the hot water cause there was no fire in the stove. My intention was to cook the pasta yesterday night but because of the family argument, i could not.
This family that i am living with is practicing what they call "Alternative Lifestyle". Basically, they don't use normal electricity, but solar powered energy. So they only switch on the heater at night, make the fire and cook only at night, and wash and dry their clothes in the morning. This morning, i was putting the dishes into the dish washer, but Donna said we had to hand wash them cause there hasn't been much sun these days, and they were running out of electricity.
Anyway, by the time i finished with the pasta salad, it was close to noon. But K and Tony were not home yet, so i decided to switch on my laptop. Not more than 15 minutes later, K came back and kept hurrying me to get ready to leave. We hurriedly gobbled down our pasta and left. I offered Tony some and he said it was very nice. That made my day. = )
Our plans for today was to visit the Auckland Botanic Gardens. Which we didn't know where it was. So we turned a few rounds before we had to ask someone to find it. We brought along our tidbits and started exploring the gardens. It was quite pathetic, obviously since it's winter now, and few plants can survive the cold weather. We got bored after walking for a bit, so we sat on a bench in the rose gardens and started snacking on Double Decker brand chicken crackers.
At about 330pm, we left and drove around the area to check out what the place had to offer. We ended up aabou huge Westfield mall, shopping and looking for a cafe to sit down, have a hot drink and do some reading. In the end, we found a public library in the mall, and spent about 2 hours reading at the library. I finished an entire 10th Anniversary Calvin and Hobbes comic book, while K got started on a Lee Kuan Yew memoir.
After all the reading, we got hungry, and decided to order Domino's pizza online (to get special offer at $7.90 for a large pizza). We spent the next 20 minutes looking for the Domino's pizza outlet to pick up our pizza. Then drove back to the Westfield carpark and had our dinner there. So there we were, 2 pigs eating a large BBQ beef pizza and gulping down Coca-cola by the bottle.. My god, we are so going to get fat.. = )
After dinner, we headed to the supermarket again to get bread for breakfast tomorrow, which had run out today.
We got home around 930pm, bathed and now in bed. I just called my sister and grandma on the phone. I asked my grandma what she as eating for dinner, and she asked me if i wanted to come and eat as well. Haha.. I don't even know if she is aware I am not in Singapore. Oh well, i guess i should be happy that at least she is still healthy and good, although she might not remember things too well..
K and I still don't know what to do tomorrow, our last day here. Kinda looking forward to moving to beach house at Whitianga over the weekend. Really getting a bit bored here!! Tomorrow is casual friday, and Donna will be making burgers for dinner.. Looking forward to that! Gosh, i am so pathetic that i actually just look forward to eating everyday!! = )
